Preparing for the Ring!

Here we go!! The next BIG cancer round!! And this round comes with relief, my tumor removal, thank you God!

Last night I tucked the girls in at Aunt Sonia and Uncle Emad’s as I had another MRI and Chest Scan at 6:00 am! Yes, AM!! I was up at 4:00 AM! Again, AM! It was a cold morning too!! I was so tired, I fell asleep in the MRI machine, you know that BIG capsule I told you about, the one that makes A LOT of noise! So much noise you have to wear ear plugs, really, they are provided! Well, I was so tired, I fell asleep in there! Haha!!

Tomorrow I will meet with the surgeon, Dr. Chang, to discuss some of the results (I think, he may leave this up to Dr. Chugh) and the surgery (definitely). I have to do my physical, medical history and learn how to take care of my drainage bag! Oh boy, the day is loaded with fun! Lol! I can’t wait for the physical part, maybe some jumping jacks, a few crunches and a short run! Ha! Wouldn’t that be funny, bald girl in full force! Lol!

I’ll finally have something to blog about! You know my emotions start running when we discuss test results and future!! :>) Other than being tired and a great amount of pain in my leg, I’ve felt pretty good! Oh ya, the “hot flashes” are getting to me as well. I hear this just may be part of my life, the rest of my life, thanks to chemo! I never knew others could see the outward signs of it until Maria called me out today! As she described it, I look like a red tomato when it happens! Haha! I’ll take that over, I look like poop! Lol!

I’m really looking forward to Mike’s arrival Saturday! Sonia, Emad and I have been going strong balancing six kids and daily visits to see my dad!! Now we are adding in all my doctor’s appointments to prepare for surgery. Emad’s family has been recruited to help get Sonia’s kids to and from school so she can watch my kids… Guess what Mike is doing this weekend? Haha! Guess what Sonia, Emad and I are doing? Ahhhhh!!! Haha, lol!

Although I don’t like the reason I am in Michigan, I do like seeing my family. I know leaving at the end of January will be hard, I’m so used to seeing my sisters, dad, brother-in-law and the kids. Especially since I’ve seen Zayne change so much from the time I started chemo until now! Today he ate a WHOLE hamburger on a bun and French fries all by himself! (And these were big home cooked burgers!) He sat at the table in a big boy chair, ate his food, then his cookie and off he went! Months ago he was in a high chair being fed! I love when I walk in and he says.. “E”…so cute! And the relationship the kids have developed with their cousins is what I always wanted! Ya…it’s going to be a tear jerker when we say “bye” until the summer!

As for dad, he seems to be recovering from the surgery pretty good but his lungs aren’t healing as they should and he has fluid in them. He is also struggling with metabolic issues and balancing his ammonia levels. His feet have severe edema and the longer he is in bed, the more strength he loses. He is definitely complaining of pain and being sick. But…he is still fighting to get transferred to inpatient rehab! That’s a good thing! Thanks for all your prayers, emails and encouraging thoughts in regards to him!

Until tomorrow….God Bless!
