All my sisters,Chicago-07. (My brother was the only guy we allowed to come but he was working. I'm the gal on your right)
News flash!! News flash! We didn’t flood the church Sunday! I even looked around to see if people wore rain boots anticipating the floods! Lol!
We survived another weekend with the unknown!! I’m really getting anxious about my appointment Wednesday. One thing I will NOT say this time is, “we will know Wednesday night what cake is baking in the oven!!” I’ll be ecstatic to just find out a surgery date! It's getting real painful!
I’m flying up to Michigan with Alexa and Morgan tonight, we land at midnight! Poor Sonia, she’ll have some moody kids tomorrow. Haha! I’m meeting with my doctors Wednesday and then we will be on a plane Thursday, 6:00 AM, heading home to Memphis! I’m so bummed about missing Elena’s picnic tonight but I will make it back to see Alexa and Morgan sing “The Wheels on the Bus” at their school open house Thursday! How exciting, I really hope they sing this time!
Mike and I worked real hard cleaning, organizing and planning for an extended stay in Michigan! Last night, I climbed in bed actually looking forward to surgery. Yes, the idea of resting sounds real good right now! Lol!!
Oh ya, I think I figured all this out!! See, God’s challenged me a lot in life and I always made it through. In most cases, successfully, others, well I just had to take it as a lesson. The other day, I thought long and hard about the idea of cancer. Why would I be chosen? Does he really think I’m that strong? Why would he sadden/worry so many people?
Think about this…he gifted me with Elena. From day one, challenged me with her allergies, this is a kid who was allergic to egg white, peanut, soy and cow’s milk products! Whoooaaaa, what do you eat? I nursed her, what do I eat? I read every book, every web site and made her food from scratch to calm her reactions. We made it!
Then he gave me the gift of identical twins! Alexa and Morgan! Whoooa, whoooaa!! Was he crazy? I have no patience! Like ZERO!! I only have two arms, two hands and two legs! What do I do with three babies!!? You would think he would have given me a tumor this size then, at least I could use it as an extra hip!!! lol! Once again, we made it. In fact, I walked my neighborhood the night before I delivered these 6’ 11” girls! Each! I even took my own pictures through my delivery!! That’s a whole blog in itself! No problem. (Well Mike may differ the “no problem”, men usually remember our misery more than we do! Lol!)
I think at this point, God is like…”What’s wrong with this girl? Is she really the Energizer Bunny?!” We traveled to Florida via car, to Michigan, Cincinnati and Dallas, often, just the girls and I. We never stayed home…once again, a breeze! Of course, he adds another challenge! Not only are they allergic to most of the same foods as Elena…they are also allergic to preservatives! OK, now I have three kids all under 2 with allergies to every food! Once again, I make all their food from scratch! By now, I’ve probably traded in the Energizer for the Duracell but we kept going!
So, with all that “said” I have come to the conclusion God just wants a fight! He really wants to see me get down and dirty and in the ring! So here we are! I know it’s believed, God knows his children but I’m thinking he may not really know all of them! Lol! I’ve been in the ring before, trained and untrained, I’ll get in it again! All I can say is, I still have three little girls that need their mommy! If they only knew how much their mommy needs them!! I also have a husband who needs his wife! He'd be bored out of his mind with "just another woman!" He's always told me, I'm the only one, there will never be another! I know God doesn't want him to grow old, grey and crabby because he's a man of his word! haha!
I will be a survivor, no matter what I need to survive!
Please keep praying! We'll be calling you soon for help.
We’ll let you know the outcome of my appointments real soon! Hopefully I can send out a blog Wednesday night. Yes, they have internet access in Michigan! I know Mike wonders at times, but they do! (He's not a Michigan fan, too cold.)
P.S. My mom rests in peace about ½ mile from my sister’s home. I’m planning on visiting her the morning of my appointments. I want her to remind God that she didn’t raise any weak links; we are all fighters until the end. Just as she was! Maybe then, God will settle the dust.
