Happy Halloween!!
Ahh, my second day of chemo! Well, I took a turn for the worse but nothing like my last cycle. Let’s hope it stays that way! I was pretty nauseas, with belly cramps and a minor headache. But I’m keeping my fluids up and eating like a champ! I continue to believe that will help!
From my understanding, (This can be foggy with all the drugs!) I am going to wait on the blood transfusion. I will have my blood work checked in Memphis next Weds., if my Hemoglobin count drops to 8, it’s 10.7 now (should be 12.-16.0), they will do one locally. My red blood cell count is also low, 3.53 (should be 3.90-5.30). This may explain why I’m so tired and why I get headaches from talking, lack of oxygen! Definitely chemo related I never had such a problem! Haha! I’m also having trouble with my electrolytes and alkaline numbers. They changed out my sodium chloride drugs to counter this, hopefully that will help!
Can you believe this!!...I’ve been approached two days by hospital security, I think this will tell you how good I look for being a Chemo Girl! Monday it was by three different security guys! (They are trying to get the employees to use the right entrance door.)
“Excuse me, are you an employee?”
“No, I’m a patient.” As he stares my Aunt down, holding two computer bags.
“I have cancer.”
“Go ahead” With much hesitation in his voice.
I pull off my hat and say, “Here’s my cancer license!” Lol!
Poor guy burying his head in his palm, “You look great!” haha!! Lol! I guess do!
The A Team took care of me today! Aunt T and Uncle Tony picked me up, hung with me and brought me gourmet lunch! Zingerman’s, nothing but the best! I ate some fruit, some salad, some corn and some steak. That will tell you, as a chemo patient, you never know what works!
By the end of my treatment I was pretty tired but always determined to walk out of here, rather a wheel chair! I consider it my daily challenge! Emad picked me up and I guided him down many streets, all the wrong ones! You’d think it was my very first time! I can’t believe his patience, if I can only have half! We arrived to my apartment and he immediately went to work! He washed the dishes, unloaded the dishwasher, folded laundry, set up my cable and computer, went to the pharmacy, and cut up some lemons...I'm sure I slept through the others! All the time, I sat in my recliner, patting Sonia’s back, she trained him well too! Lol! Thinking about me and Sonia’s visit the previous night, sitting with our feet up, munching on Tostitos and guacamole, and not thinking twice about chores! Lol!
Aunt Emily and Uncle Mark are hanging in Memphis. Having a lot of fun with all the kids! They must be an amazing team; they haven’t forgotten a kid or missed a function. Of course there would be many with Halloween! Thank God for family!
Wednesday, my last day of chemo this cycle is starting off pretty good. A bit slow but not too sick, I thank you for your prayers! I hope to see my niece and nephews trick or treat tonight, wishing it was with my girls but knowing I am fighting for many more years! However, I got a taste of Halloween today! Elena’s thoughtful teacher, Mrs. Prewitt, sent me pictures of the parent’s coffee (I was to attend) which included the kids in their costumes! Elena was all dressed up, spending time with her daddy! I also got an email from Alexa and Morgan's school Director, Mrs. Dania, a visual of their Halloween show, so thoughtful of you guys! Yes, I shed some tears, tears of pleasure! Thank you for thinking of me and the time away from my girls! It is a Happy Halloween!
My surgeon gave me the bad news today; she will be leaving in Dec. to deliver a baby! (What the hell!) I was extremely disappointed! I’ve been reappointed to another surgeon, one a lot of people speak highly about. But I need to do my research; he definitely breaks my woman team I was so confident with! Lol!
Otherwise, another day in clinic, but my last day of my second cycle! Just two more rounds before surgery and radiation! Half way there with chemo!! Yaaaa!!
I hope you guys have a lot of fun with your goblins, witches, princesses and more! Be safe and send me pictures!!
