Prescription: 25+ Laughs each day!
Another great day in Memphis!! My major side effects are fatigue and low blood counts and it’s raining in Memphis! As you can imagine it’s pretty easy to sit around here, feet propped up, taking a siesta and thinking about Mike working! Haha! I call it my “personal” day! You know those benefits they forgot to mention when I took on the CEO Paharik title!! Ya, I exercised one today! Of course, when I hear the garage door lifting, I’ll jump to my feet and wash the morning dishes, and greet the man with a smile; in Spanish we call that man “hefe!” (Boss) Lol!
I have to admit, we did sneak out to the bookstore for awhile. I know, germs, germs but we did need more books on cancer! Hahha! I wouldn’t have put this in my blog but I did get caught. Ms. Mary, one of the kid’s previous school teachers busted us!! Ooops! Lol!
One of the books I browsed said that chemotherapy often changes your hormones. I thought, oh great, just what I need! I mean, I’ve dealt with PMS my whole life, give me a break! But I was thrilled to know, it can put you closer or actually in premenopausal stage. I’ll drink to that! I know, you think I’m crazy but quite honestly, I can’t wait for Mike to say, “It must be that time of the month!” Ladies, you know how these men think any bad mood is “that time of the month!” Well, now I can say, “no honey, it’s just that time of life, the rest of my life!” Ahh, what a great feeling I don’t have to hear that anymore! Thank you chemo! Lol!
Today was also my third day in a row to run/walk on my treadmill! I really feel good! Running and Running. Looking in the mirror, watching my head perspire! Sweating all the toxins, dreaming of a marathon someday! OK, it’s just a dream! I never ran a marathon and quite honestly, when I beat this cancer, I’ll still enjoy watching my sisters run those marathons! Haha, LOL! But yesterday was pretty funny, there I was, dressed in one of those wife beater white T’s and sweat pants. My head wrapped in a bright orange band, sort of like a tube top but made for us bald folks, trying to stay warm. Telling myself, run Eva run! My forehead full of beads of perspiration! Body sweating, leg shooting with pain! Pushing myself even harder!
First it was, “Go Eva GO.” Then “run Eva run.” Then “go Rocky go!” Lol!! I was pumped, ready to get ‘em! Potentially a YouTube top watched video!! Lol! Laughing at myself, believing I was Rocky! So I thought, I have to share this with you and if you can’t vision this, I found you a video to share the feeling!! It was a great feeling, knowing cancer can’t win!
You have to copy and paste this site to check it out! You’ll get the feeling! As my friend Becky wrote on her care package that traveled from Texas to Michigan last week, TEAM EVA! I’m glad you’re on my team!!

Again, THANK YOU for being you! Being there for us and helping us BEAT cancer!!
