Chemo Update

Yaaa! I made it to Sonia’s for Halloween last night! I got there around 5:30 and Sonia had all her kids dressed, ready to roll! It was several hours before dark fell…tell me she wasn’t ready! Lol! Ahmed was Harry Potter (and he made a good one!), Bella was Cinderella…wearing her costume so well, and Zayne was Blues Clues! How fun!

Thanks to Uncle Robbie, Maria, Sonia and I snuggled in a cool Haunted House, passing out chips and candy to all the Trick or Treaters! Maria eating the chips asking Sonia to save the Cheetos for her! Obviously not worried about her Biggest Loser contest ending in Dec.! Lol! She definitely didn’t get the award for guessing costumes that went to Sonia last night! The whole time, I laughed but with so much sadness. Wishing my girls where here too. I visioned their costumes, heard their voices…Trick or Treat!, dreaming of their smiles with every candy received. I could just feel their excitement, sense the uncertainty, racing to the neighbors with Daniel and Carlie! But looking forward to next Halloween!

Well I received my Neulasta shot today! Remember the one that makes my bones nice and achy, letting me know it’s producing more white blood counts for me! I’ve been what I call a “stabilized chemo patient.” I have a lot of symptoms, exhausted, extreme nauseas, constipated, foggy brain and headaches but all of them within reason. Of course, this is keeping me down but I am trying, not giving up!
“Aunt Janice” stayed with me today. Janice was a good friend of my mom’s when we grew up. She’s so funny and loves to cook! When I wasn’t resting, we talked and honestly, it was always about food! And good food! She definitely got me to eat something today! If only I could tolerate the aromas of cooking, I’ be eating like a Princess! Lol! But she did make me a big bowl of potatoes soup before Maria brought her over!

I’m heading to bed and hoping for another good night’s rest! Praying for another tolerable day! Thank you for all the Halloween Pics! It feels like I’ve been sick for years, the kids all grown up, and it’s only been months…cherish the moments, make the memories!
