After reading the very first sentence, I am sure you will surmise immediately that this is not the accomplished, thoughtful, enjoyable author, Eva, you are accustomed to. This is not the No Ordinary Mother, this is actually Eva's husband, Mike. I will try my best to fill you in, though it is a tough act to follow as you all know.
Eva made it home safely to Memphis from Michigan early Saturday afternoon. She was vey tired as I greeted her at airport security, trudging along slowly but with a big smile on her face and a wave of her hand. She was home and only minutes away from seeing her three little princesses.
Upon arrival at the Paharik residence, Eva was greeted by my brother Mark, sister-in-law Emily, their two kids Daniel and Carly. They are with us the next two weeks to help with us, the kids and the house. As Eva entered our home from the garage, Elena stood nearby for a minute next to Daniel as a big smile and clever laugh emerged from her face. MOMMA was home!! Elena was so happy (probably also because she would get home cooked meals and not have to eat more Mickey D's).
The twins lay asleep during their afternoon nap, but eventually heard the ruckus downstairs and came to see what was going on. As with Elena, their huge smiles quickly formed. Once again, a family together!!!
The second go around for chemo has certainly been challenging for Eva. The last few days have been days of some rest, though filled with shortness in breath, nausea, and lots of body soreness. This is the most difficult time for her in the cycle. That said, if all goes according to the first cycle the side effects should subside in 2-3 days. Hopefully, for everyone's sake she will feel better soon so no one has to read any more of these insomnia-curing blogs of mine.
As usual, our "Patient" is not following all of the doctor's orders and is trying to help out too much. She has been doing everything she can for the girls, her niece and nephew (remember to speak to her about this!! :>). The cousins have all playing together great and are getting to know one another. Eva wanted me to let all of you know that she is doing fine and her spirit is as strong as ever. Also, we all wanted to thank everyone for the tremendous support. God bless you!!
Signing off for good (I will probably be fired tomorrow AM when Eva reads this :>)
