Ahhh, the Jolly O’ Eva is back in action. The doctor wrote a prescription for “Conversation and Outdoors!” Lol! Friday, I figured out I needed to get out of the house and chat with friends!
Saturday morning we visited the tree farm and brought home a Chemo looking tree! Haha! She’s a little bare in the mid though. Definitely not like me! It’s ok, we have a tree and I’m still looking for energy to decorate it but, we have a tree! In the evening, we went to Elena’s friend’s Pump It Up Birthday party! Wendy was so sweet, she invited Alexa and Morgan as well, so we made it a family event! Mike jumped in the jumper, crawled through the obstacles and slid down the slide…whose party? Haha! No, he was very active with the girls and I was fulfilling my “prescription” with the other parents. It was the perfect night for each of us!! We ended the night eating out as a family. It was a cancer free day and I felt great!! I was asleep by 7:00 pm too! Did I mention it was Saturday night too! Lol!
We decided to continue to break all “lockdown” rules and attend church. We haven’t been able to go much due to travels or low blood counts. Once again, it was like a cancer free day; we were all excited to go! I felt so good, so strong and so happy. I wouldn’t let myself feel any emotions of cancer. I prayed for everyone’s good health and happiness and most of all, pray that my family and friends would never have to face the “gift” of cancer. We then went to the donut shop as we always had…
This week is just like the weekend! Everyday routines, everyday chores and a lot of rest! My ONLY side effect this week is extreme tiredness, nothing more sleep can’t fix!
Today I started putting up a few decorations. They’ve been sitting there since Thursday night! Alexa and Morgan were home (It was Alexa's turn to have a fever), ready to help! We got a few things up when the girls started digging in the boxes. They were calling each other to the other’s box, their little heads buried in the bin, butt’s way up in the air, so excited with what they found inside…
“Lexa! Look, a snowman and Santa” tossing her findings across the room, digging for more.
“Morgan look! A Christmas sock!” As she pulls out her Christmas stocking and tried to put her feet in them. haha
“Lexa! A tree and momma, daddy and me, and you and Lanie” A craft Elena made at school last year.
“Lexa! Look, jingle bells!” As she shakes door hangers throughout the living room.
And then the finale…
“Morgan, look….balls! Red” Sounds of shatter!
“And Blue!” more sounds of shatter!
“And Yellow!” (Really gold but most importantly, even more sounds of shatter!)
I turn to see what’s breaking and Morgan makes eye contact. “I no do it. Lexa”
I look at Alexa who simply says, “Ugh oh!”
Well, another PXXXXXX household oopsy! Thank God for cancer is all I can say! Lol! First some wall coloring on my suede finished walls, then more coloring, then Alexa’s haircut and now broken Christmas bulbs! The best part is all of this happens under my parenting. Not Mike or any of our family members who have flown in to help. I think my kids understand the life changes we make when we have cancer! Like not worrying about the small stuff!Lol!
Tonight, we’ll finish decorating and tomorrow we’ll start preparing for the next round of chemo!
