Happy Friday from Tennessee!! Quick update….
We made it back home Monday evening, a car full of kids, clothes and a lot of stuff! All the stuff we built up in the apartment. Yes, the apartment we no longer rent! Yahooo!! We started traveling Sunday, made it to Patricia’s again for a late dinner. It was like a Bed & Breakfast, a good night’s sleep and a good morning breakfast!!
I’m still recovering from surgery. The pain is better but so is the medicine. They have me on Oxycodone now. Each day I think I can stop taking it and I end up back on it. However, I am on crutches and hope to be walking sometime next week! I have big dreams! Lol!
Grandma and Grandpa Paharik are in town! Grandpa, well he’s been moved to the B Team and Grandma continues on the A Team! Haha! But they work well as a team and doing wonders with the girls, the house, the patient and cooking! Grandpa is even doing handyman work, cleaning the garage, fixing things, etc. Poor Grandma, she arrived to all our dirty Michigan laundry and has been doing laundry ad ironing every night! That’s after a day of driving the kids to and from school, cleaning, cooking and entertaining the girls! Not to mention, spoiling me like my mother would have done! The girls are having a ball with them! I know Mike appreciates the help as I do, he’s been working real hard caring for his four ladies!
I did decide to continue my treatment in Michigan. Too many pros and as Mike says, what’s seven weeks if it may give me years! No matter how many years, it still hurts to leave the girls for seven weeks but I know it’s what’s best and I need the “best” going for me. Due to some intense planning of the Radiation Team, I have to be in Michigan on the 4th of Feb. for the day for testing, imaging and etc. I will return home that evening or the 5th AM. I will then travel to Michigan on Feb. 17th and stay there for 7 weeks. ( This is when we could use meals and prayers again) I am hoping to come home at least two weekends but that will depend on the cash flow and how fatigue I get. However, I will get to see Elena’s first dance recital on Feb. 9th and celebrate Alexa and Morgan’s 3rd Birthday Feb. 16th! I will go away with current memories full of excitement!!
So, the travels to Michigan for medical reasons come to an end for Mike and the kids. I hope this will be the last for me. But we are all here until the 17th of Feb. so feel free to call and/or visit, I am passed the no visitor stage! Yaaaa!!
My dad is still in the hospital. He had Burr Hole surgery (nickel size holes drilled in his head to remove fluid.) on his head Monday and surgery on his lungs (To remove fluid from the “Plural” area) Tuesday. He is recovering from these this week. With prayers and hope, he will be medically discharged to an inpatient rehabilitation center sometime. From our understanding, he will need to be in one for 3 months. With a miracle, he will recover but a miracle will have to happen for a full recovery.
Thank you for all your prayers and concerns for both of us.
